LCD data projector hire Glasgow - LCD projectors use a series of dichroic
mirrors and in-line LCD (liquid crystal displays) panels to generate
an image. Cheap LCD projectors (which we don't have in our hire stock
due to their inherent inferiority) use 1 LCD panel whereas our professional
LCD projectors have separate RGB panels. The light streams are separated
by the dichroic mirrors which reflect the Red, Green & Blue light
streams. These three separate beams are then combined and focussed through
the lens to generate the LCD data projection which you see displayed
on the screen or other chosen display surface.
SVGA & XGA multimedia presentation units - The SVGA & XGA are
references to the native resolution, which is equivalent to the screen
size of a computer. These are measured in pixels. SVGA (which stands
for Super Video Graphics Array) is 800 x 600 pixels. XGA (Extended Graphics
Array) is 1024 x 768 pixels. Obviously (or perhaps not) both types of
projectors will accept inputs of other resolutions which will be interpreted
with only a slight loss of quality. VGA, SVGA, XGA & SXGA signals
will all be accepted. Please note that all our data projectors are standard
screen aspect ratio (ie. not wide screen), although they will either
expand or compress a wide screen image (much like a standard TV). WXGA
(wide screen projectors are available by arrangement if required). Our
LCD projector range will accept both PAL & NTSC signals (PAL is
the European standard, NTSC is the USA standard) on a variety of connections
- Basically most connectors from any machine that could be connnected
to a TV or computer monitor will be accepted. Typical uses are for Powerpoint
presentations, or DVD playback. It is possible to connect a data projector
to a games console such as a Sony Playstation or PS2, Microsoft XBox,
a VHS or mini DV player, a camera (we have high resolution CCTV cameras
available for hire which can be weatherproofed if required).
Powerpoint Presentations with audio playback - Our data projectors (like
most modern units) are fitted with a small speaker being roughly equivalent
to those found on a laptop and therefore we would recommend that an
external sound system is in place for any presentation or use which
has an audio playback requirement. We can provide sound systems for
any occaison if required, and we will be happy to advise on what size
of system we feel will suit the application.
Projector Placement and Screen size - We have a range of screens in
various styles & sizes available. Tripod, pull down & fast fold
screens are the three types which we have in hire stock and these are
available in 4', 5' & 6' sizes. Larger screens can be made available
by arrangement. For most users we find that the tripod screen is the
simplest and most effective option. Most of our screens are set for
front projection use. Ideal projector placement is twice as far back
from the projector as the screen is wide. The bottom of the screen and
lens should be in line, and the projector should be placed at a ninety
degree angle to the centre of the screen. SVGA data projectors feature
vertical keystone adjustment to compensate for the projector being above
or below optimal alignment. Our XGA data projectors also offer horizontal
keystone adjustment, which allows adjustment for the projector being
off centre screen alignment. We do have back projection screens available
in our hire stock. Additionally we have custom projection surfaces and
can provide equipment for any eventuality if required.
Powerpoint projection equipment
rentals - Our data projectors are all usable with computers (laptops,
notebooks, PC's, Windows or Apple MacIntosh) which have an external
VGA output, which almost every modern computer has. This external output
will be on a 15pin D-Sub connector, or possible a DVI (Digital video
interface). Most of our projectors can be controlled via a USB connection
from a computer running Powerpoint. Driver disks can be provided or
downloaded from the manufacturers website. Please be usre to discuss
this at the time of your enquiry if you'd like us to provide a driver
disk. For customers who intend to use a projector with alptop computer
we typically ask the computer is brought when collection the projection
equipment to ensure correct configuration and give a brief demo of the
key features. If the projection equipment is being delivered we ask
that the computer is available on-site at the time of delivery (if setup
is required) for a brief demo and to configure the projection system.
Please call Karen or Scott to discuss your requirements on 0141 435
